Web Content Specialist
Pay Grade 14 | Salary $43,210.08 - $64,816.08 Annually | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week | Eligible for overtime pay
About the role
Join the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) in managing, coordinating, and developing content for the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website. This role focuses on ensuring the website is visually appealing, user-friendly, ADA compliant, and consistently updated with accurate information. As a key part of external communications, you will collaborate with communications staff to develop messaging and innovate using analytics to engage audiences in outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, boating, and wildlife watching.
Responsibilities
- Update web pages with accurate and timely information.
- Develop long-term, sustainable processes for managing web content, improving design, layout, ADA compliance, and functionality.
- Research and stay current on the latest web content management technology and software.
- Coordinate with staff across KDFWR, particularly communications, to share news, activities, and programs.
- Support the development of agency communications as needed.
- Collaborate with the IT department to innovate the website with a mobile-first mindset, using user analytics and behavior insights.
- Assist in developing written material, photos, and graphics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proficient writing skills.
- Experience using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap or another responsive framework.
- Experience using SharePoint or another Content Management System (CMS).
- Skills in graphics development.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience, Training, or Skills: Two years of experience in systems analysis, business administration, or public administration.
- Substitute Education for Experience: A master’s degree in computer science, business, or public administration may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Substitute Experience for Education: Additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, information services, research and statistics, business administration, or public administration may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
