About the role
The Water Wastewater Operator position is responsible for operating, controlling, and maintaining water and wastewater equipment and plants for the County's water utility. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing processing conditions and taking corrective actions to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate and control water and wastewater treatment systems
- Monitor and analyze processing conditions
- Take corrective actions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Document operational activities and maintenance tasks
- Respond to emergencies and malfunctions
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
- Experience in operating and maintaining similar equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized training program in water/wastewater operations
- Current certification as a Water/Wastewater Operator from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection

Pay
