Wastewater Operator
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You will ensure the performance, safety and optimization of our Wastewater Treatment Plant by monitoring and operating wastewater treatment equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance of plant machinery, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and documenting records correctly for compliance purposes. As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to the efficient treatment of wastewater and help maintain a safe working environment.
The typical work schedule is 40 hours a week, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays. New employees receive two weeks vacation time (prorated in the first year), sick pay and floating holidays on the first day of work.
Salary: The 2026 hourly pay for this position is $25.26 - $31.58/hour plus excellent benefits package. This position includes step increases and annual COLA pending City Council approval. Employees will be automatically enrolled in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), a pension to help provide for financial security during retirement, which consists of employer and employee contributions.
Qualifications
Vocational / technical training in wastewater plant operation with one to two years experience preferred. Possession of a valid Wisconsin Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certification is required within a year and half from the date of hire. A Commercial Drivers\ License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement (N) is required within a year from the date of hire.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid Wisconsin Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certification is required within a year and half from the date of hire. A Commercial Drivers\ License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement (N) is required within a year from the date of hire. A pre-employment physical and drug screen will be required.
