About the role
This is a remote position. The Water Treatment Sales Consultant will identify, develop, and service existing and new accounts in the greater market, working closely with customers to provide tailored water treatment programs.
Responsibilities
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules.
- Develop and perform all sales activities in the assigned territory, including lead generation, cold calling, and appointment setting.
- Promote and sell maintenance services to new and existing Chem-Aqua customers.
- Provide “hands-on” servicing of accounts, including chemical testing, calibration and repair of chemical feed equipment, and visual inspections of systems.
- Schedule service and sales calls, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Identify new business needs and opportunities, and develop customized solutions for customers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; College Degree preferred.
- Experience in water treatment, water hygiene, environmental health and safety, or secondary disinfection is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience with a proven track record.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with experience working on remote teams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
- Ability to perform physical work in HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler environments, including exposure to chemicals, noise, hot/cold temperatures, and inclement weather.
- Good physical condition; job requires frequent walking to and from worksites.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (DMV check required).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends.
- Required work activities include climbing and descending stairs and ladders (10-30’ in height), sometimes while carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining 3-point ladder contact (per OSHA rules).
- Ability to wear protective gear for the face, ears, and hands.
- 35% travel required.
