Water Treatment Operator I or II

About the role

The purpose of this classification is to perform skilled technical work to operate, control and maintain equipment at a water treatment plant to maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control water treatment plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Monitor water quality parameters and adjust processes as necessary to meet regulatory standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Document all activities and results in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents related to water treatment operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Experience operating water treatment plant equipment.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant training program in water treatment operations.
• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting water treatment plant equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.

Skills

• Proficiency in using water treatment plant monitoring and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret water quality reports and regulatory documents.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and other staff members.

Pay

• $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience.
