About the role
V3 Companies seeks a Civil Designer in our Woodridge, IL office. The ideal candidate will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine the built and natural world, supporting growth through sustainable urban development.
Responsibilities
- Shape land development and infrastructure projects, including stormwater, sanitary systems, roads, and utilities.
- Communicate and coordinate with team members to deliver a wide range of private and public sector projects, collaborating with Project Managers and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Aid in obtaining civil and environmental permits and approvals.
- Collaborate with teams that understand the complexities of water management, contributing to projects that engage with streams, floodplains, wetlands, and other water resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 0-6 years of related experience.
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and MicroStation (preferred).
- Familiarity with modeling/design tools such as HEC-RAS, TR-20, and XPSWMM (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design tools (preferred).
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, MicroStation.
- HEC-RAS, TR-20, XPSWMM.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design tools.
