About the role
GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, is seeking an entry-level Water Resources Engineer in its corporate headquarters office in downtown Milwaukee. This position is ideal for a candidate interested in designing stormwater and floodplain projects for public and private clients throughout Wisconsin, with opportunities to work on larger projects across the Midwest.
Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing Stormwater Management Plans for projects under the direction of the design project manager.
- Participate in the design of sustainable stormwater management systems, including water reuse and green infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other GRAEF disciplines, clients, and consultants to ensure project success.
- Conduct research and analysis to comply with state and local regulations and develop relationships with permitting agencies.
- Perform modeling tasks using various software tools, guided by technical experts.
- Assist with wetland and floodplain mitigation and permitting processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Good communication and writing skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree with an emphasis on hydraulics, hydrology, or a related field of study is preferred.
- Experience with GIS software is advantageous.
- SWPPP Certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, and SWMM is beneficial.
