About the role

The City of Scottsdale manages the operation and maintenance of four potable drinking water treatment facilities: the Central Arizona Project (CAP) Plant, Chaparral Water Treatment Plant, Central Groundwater Treatment Facility (CGTF), and North Groundwater Treatment Facility (NGTF).

Responsibilities

  • Efficient, safe, and economical operation of the water treatment facilities and processes.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of large conventional and/or membrane treatment facilities utilizing advanced computerized systems.
  • Coordinate personnel-related activities including training, approving work schedules, recommending/approving personnel actions, coaching and counseling, establishing performance goals, and writing performance evaluations.
  • Obtain or maintain a Grade 4 Certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality within the discipline of Water Treatment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in civil or environmental engineering, management, business, or related discipline from an accredited educational institution.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of large conventional and/or membrane treatment facilities that utilize advanced computerized systems.
  • 3 or more years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Reciprocity through ADEQ upon hire or promotion to a Grade 4 Certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality within the discipline of Water Treatment.

Pay

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $58.53/hour or $121,742.40/annually.
