About the role
Join Garver's Water Design Center (WDC) in Greenville, SC as an Infrastructure Intern. You'll work with a close-knit team of water and wastewater infrastructure planning and design experts, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and professional environment. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to projects that make a tangible difference in communities across the region.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and management of water and sewer infrastructure projects, including water distribution pipelines, water booster pump stations, water storage tanks, sewer collection pipelines, sewer pump stations, and site utility improvements.
- Support project teams with preparation of construction drawings, drafting exhibits, development of cost estimates, coordination with manufacturers/vendors, and other engineering-related tasks.
- Provide support to Water Design Center teams and regional engineering teams on planning, design, and construction-phase activities.
- Participate in construction observation and field exposure on active construction sites, including outdoor work and coordination with contractors and field personnel.
Garver Launch Program
- Engage daily with fellow interns and industry professionals to build your network.
- Participate in Garver's wellness program to prioritize overall well-being.
- Give back to the community through volunteer activities as part of Garver Gives initiative.
- Collaborate with Garver's Learning and Development team for tailored training and skills-based courses.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing an engineering degree from an ABET accredited program or an environmental science degree.
Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
- AutoCAD
- ArcGIS/ESRI
- Microstation
Work Environment
This is an in-office position with duties generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations for work, meetings, or construction observation may be required.
