Wastewater Project Manager

About the role

AE2S has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager looking for challenging and rewarding wastewater treatment consulting and design opportunities. Our projects include new Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) designs, technical upgrades, and expansions of existing WRRFs. We serve public and private clientele with technical solutions across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects, including planning, study, design, and construction administration.
• Manage performance of assigned project team members, including Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians.
• Maintain existing client relationships and develop relationships with prospective/new clients.
• Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
• Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
• Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
• Travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development.
• Work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 10+ years consulting experience in wastewater treatment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Prior project management experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Proven client relationships.
• Knowledge of design standards and permitting.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin funding programs.

Physical Qualifications

• Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 20 pounds, rarely up to 50 pounds).
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects.
• Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including flame-resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear as required.
• Occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime as workload demands.
• Travel to off-site locations, including occasional overnight stays.

Pay

Anticipated starting salary: $98,100–$119,900 per year, depending on education, experience, and skillset.
