Wastewater Project Manager
Responsibilities
- Provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
- Provide professional services for the design and construction of wastewater collection systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects.
- Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
- Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments and maintain quality client relationships and communication.
- Cook up guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members.
- Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months.
- 6+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the wastewater market sector.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Able to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities.
- Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Design work and knowledge with wastewater treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure.
- Experience leading both internal initiatives and external projects.
- Able to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
- Occasionally required to work evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
