About the role
AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Wastewater Project Manager with a passion for wastewater treatment plant evaluation, design, and construction.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal wastewater treatment projects and collection systems.
This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful wastewater practice in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area and New England working on a diverse range of technically challenging projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-discipline and complex wastewater design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases.
- Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects to approved scope, budget, and schedule.
- Perform engineering technical reviews and implement AECOM quality standards.
- Point of contact internally and externally for projects and clients in southern New England.
- Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff for career development.
- Support business development activities, including technical and cost pricing efforts for proposals.
- Opportunity for participation in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 6+ years of related experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping and collection systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Registered Professional Engineer in CT or ability to obtain within one year.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.
Preferred Capabilities
- 10+ years of related experience in wastewater consulting and engineering management.
- Previous experience leading scope, technical approach and pricing efforts for leading business development activities.
- Previous water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems and client relations experience.
- Previous experience leading client and public presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff and project team.
- Experience with water treatment engineering.
