About the role

The Wastewater Plant Technician I assists in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This role supports the company's mission of saving water and protecting the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and control wastewater treatment processes, including screening, sedimentation, filtration, controlling pH and polymer dosing, and disinfection.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of treatment equipment, pumps, and tanks.
  • Record operational data, maintain logs, and prepare accurate reports as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot, and if necessary, assist in repairing equipment and process issues.
  • Operate daily production, respond to emergencies, and coordinate drivers and unloading of tankers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or abnormalities.
  • Train new employees and share knowledge with team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3-4 years of related work experience in an industrial environment; coursework in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • CERTIFICATIONS: OSHA Certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
