Wastewater Plant Operator Technician I

What You'll Do

• Monitor and operate wastewater, sludge, and FOG treatment systems
• Observe plant conditions and make process adjustments as directed
• Maintain accurate plant logs, reports, and operational records
• Assist with receiving and processing incoming waste streams
• Monitor pumps, valves, blowers, boilers, and related process equipment
• Identify potential equipment or process issues and assist with troubleshooting and repairs
• Support plant maintenance, housekeeping, and operational excellence initiatives
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications

• Valid and current Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification recognized by the state DEP
• Valid driver's license
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pumps, valves, blowers, hydraulics, or similar equipment
• Ability to perform laboratory testing and maintain accurate documentation
• Basic math and computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination
• Ability to obtain confined space entry and forklift certifications if not already certified

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $22.00 - $25.00 hourly at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
