About the role
The Wastewater Plant Maintenance position involves duties associated with the maintenance of buildings, pump stations, and process equipment at the Mentor Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities
- Assists in assigned corrective maintenance work order duties.
- Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment at plants or lift stations.
- Performs lift station maintenance including operating, troubleshooting, repairing, sweeping, raking, and trash cleanup.
- Receives on-the-job training at the plants and lift stations on processes and operations.
- Works with maintenance and operators to maintain the treatment and collection processes at the plants and lift stations.
- Conducts preventative maintenance and inspection on all process equipment, machinery, and structures to maintain good operating condition, reduce equipment failures, and increase process productivity.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Pass a drug screening.
- One (1) year experience with mechanical and electrical equipment, operations, and maintenance or equivalent is preferred.
Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, public officials, the general public, contractors, consultants, and customers.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Schedule
- May require overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and rotating days.
Pay
$20.40 - $34.51 per hour
