About the role
We are seeking a Waste Water Maintenance Technician to perform building maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a wastewater treatment facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform building maintenance duties and specific tasks such as repairing conveyors, gearboxes, or hydraulic systems as assigned by the supervisor
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on wastewater equipment, including conveyors, gearboxes, augers, and pumps
- Troubleshoot machinery quickly and effectively to minimize downtime
- Complete all tasks in the safest and most efficient manner, complying with all safety regulations
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Document and maintain “Standard Operating Procedures” for site-specific technologies
- Maintain compliance with discharge permit requirements
- Perform routine inspections, lubricate machinery, change fluids, and test equipment to prevent failures
- Communicate with wastewater management and personnel to diagnose problems and identify potential mechanical issues
- Day-to-day maintenance and repair of high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, and air compressors
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems on equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
- General mathematics ability required to perform job functions
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings
- Basic knowledge of standard and metric measures
- Ability to work assigned days/shifts, including some weekends
- Ability to work in extreme heat and/or below freezing temperatures
- Physical ability to climb (including ladders), lift, and work with a variety of hand and power tools, shop machines, and tools
Qualifications
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, and air compressors
- Knowledge of welding (Stainless Steel, MIG, TIG) is a plus
- Previous maintenance experience with PLC, electrical systems, multi-meter, and SAP is preferred
