About the role
Effectively work with plant staff regarding Environmental Compliance. Monitor and assist in day-to-day activities, delegate work to seasonal helpers, and report progress, concerns, and upcoming tasks to the plant manager. Responsible for the upkeep of the seasonal Migrant camp.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for proper repair and maintenance of irrigation and related equipment, monitor pumps, tank, irrigation lines, and pivot systems
- Complete daily irrigation tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training for employees
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Monitor run-off, lift stations and rainfall and report to supervisor
- Drive company vehicle from plant to irrigation site
- Take water samples as required
- Maintain cost controls over equipment for budget purposes
- Prepare the fields (mow, seed etc.)
- Collect data and prepare reports
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and write the English language
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make minor repairs to pumps and other equipment preferred
- Ability to operate tractors, mowers, aerators, and truck and small hand, power tools
- Illinois certified waste water operator preferred or ability to obtain certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Pay
Wage range from $35 to $40 per hour, based on skills, abilities, and experience.
