Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment and processes associated with demineralized water systems, including industrial sanitary and waste water facilities, and a nutrient reduction plant.
  • Understand the importance of system documentation and attention detail.
  • Perform complex waste water testing, input data, and perform system troubleshooting to make operational adjustments to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Assist other licensed operators with job tasks to support compliance with Virginia Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit (VPDES).
  • The position requires shift work, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess or able to obtain Virginia Class 3 (or greater) waste water operators license.
  • Licenses must be obtained within two years of job acceptance.
  • Respirator protection will be required as necessary for specific job tasks.
  • Work from ladders and other elevated catwalk/platforms is required.
  • Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE (Q) Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Knowledge of waste water treatment processes.
