Darlington Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Waste Operative to join the Environmental Services Division.
This post is restricted to internal applicants only.
Responsibilities
- Domestic waste and recycling collections (including food waste).
- Garden waste collections.
- Trade waste collections.
- Bulky Waste collections.
- Duties of a similar nature related to this post within the Environmental Services Division throughout the Borough of Darlington, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service at all times.
Requirements
The role includes:
- 32 days Annual Leave, plus Bank Holidays, with option to purchase additional Annual Leave (pro-rata for part time working)
- 4 day working week (Tuesday to Friday)

Pay
Salary: £25,583 per annum
Schedule
Working a 4-day working week totalling 74 hours over a 2-week period. Our collection services typically operate Tuesday to Friday, starting daily at 7:00am. Occasional work on Mondays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays will be required to meet service demands and are regarded as compulsory overtime.
