Job Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices
- Accurately enter materials into inventory systems and maintain perpetual inventory records
- Store, organize, and stock materials for easy accessibility
- Pull and distribute materials based on work orders and job requirements
- Load and unload materials, including transformers and poles, using forklift
- Track and restock returned materials and maintenance supplies
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
- Operate forklifts and maintain required log
- Transport materials between district warehouses as needed
- Assist with tracking and managing tools, safety equipment, and repairs
- Support operations for CoastConnect, LLC (fiber subsidiary) by managing fiber materials
- Assist with warehouse operations in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; high school diploma preferred
- Must be able to acquire a Mississippi Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Ability to operate computer and warehouse related systems
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Basic math skills (including ratios, percentages, and measurements)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn Rural Utilities Service (RUS) construction specifications and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) standards
Working Conditions And Physical Characteristics
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and moving equipment
- Occasional travel between warehouse locations
- Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive motions
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle tools and small components
- Ability to maintain visual attention to detail at both close and distance range
