Warehouse Technician
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Warehouse Technician performs duties at the Shipping and Receiving Facility (SRF) to ensure we manage the assets and operations and complete required deliverables to support the customer’s mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise-wide.
Responsibilities
- Perform all packaging and shipping processes for IT equipment, including shipments to remote and challenging overseas locations, adhering to customer and DoS requirements.
- Conduct warehouse operations as part of the logistics and warehouse staff (est. 100 FTEs).
- Normal duty hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, with the Government reserving the right to task with extended service hours (up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7)) in the case of an emergency, special project, increased workload, or other event.
- Work with all necessary inventory systems and administration of the warehouse and contents.
- Operate a Government-approved COTS inventory management software capable of real-time inventory levels, shipping status, automatic packing/inventory lists, and achieving efficiencies.
- Operate various courier, forklift, and transportation services, including logistical support for domestic and overseas shipments, as well as transporting to/from various DoS facilities within the NCR.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s).
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for long periods.
- Standing for long periods.
- Ambulate throughout an office and between several buildings.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds.
- Travel by land or air transportation up to 25%.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is between $18.37/hour and $27.55/hour. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to work location, skills, experience, government contractual requirements, and performance.
