Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician II or III level directly engages in a team of teams manufacturing environment by assisting operations and ensuring they have the resources to execute their operations. This role is based at the new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility supporting the production of hydraulic actuators for today’s aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities for Level II:

  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance procedures on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce the likelihood of unexpected failures.
  • Diagnose Mechanical Issues: Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions by applying technical expertise and standard troubleshooting methods.
  • Maintain Maintenance Records: Accurately document all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, and parts utilized, to ensure comprehensive history and compliance.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Implement and follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and team members.
  • Communicate Technical Information: Effectively share technical updates and maintenance status with team members to facilitate coordinated and efficient operations.

• Key Responsibilities for Level III:

  • Execute Advanced Repairs: Performs complex maintenance and repair tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to technical standards.
  • Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues: Identifies and resolves atypical mechanical problems using established procedures and technical expertise to minimize operational downtime.
  • Mentor Junior Technicians: Provides guidance and support to less experienced team members, enhancing their technical skills and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Cook up Maintenance Activities: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and resource availability.
  • Develop Maintenance Procedures: Contributes to the creation and refinement of maintenance processes and methodologies, aiding in the determination of appropriate approaches for new assignments.

  • Troubleshooting: Adept at identifying and resolving mechanical issues using systematic problem-solving techniques.
  • Blueprint Reading: Competent in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to guide maintenance activities.
  • Safety Compliance: Knowledgeable in industry safety standards and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Installation: Experienced in installing, calibrating, and testing new machinery and equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Capable of managing and maintaining inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Effective in coordinating with team members and other departments to achieve maintenance objectives.
  • Technical Training: Able to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues, enhancing team competency.
