Warehouse Team Member II/Receiving- 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm) $24.27/hour* - Williams Foods

This is a key entry-level position within our manufacturing facility, which produces quality food products for our customers. An additional $1.50 per hour shift differential is provided for hours worked between 6PM-6AM. Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, load, inspect, and relocate raw materials upon receipt in Shipping and Receiving.
  • Pull raw materials and deliver them to production personnel as appropriate.
  • Relocate finished goods to warehouse racks.
  • Pick, stage, and inspect outbound loads and load trailers.
  • Perform raw material returns as needed.
  • Inspect incoming trailers to ensure trailer integrity and temperature meets requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize the work area.
  • Document all transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Frequent work in the freezer for up to several hours at a time.
  • Receive bulk ingredient, packaging, and raw material items.
  • Assist in conducting cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Document relevant shipping and receiving information.
  • Store and retrieve raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Perform other duties by assisting in the Shipping and Receiving department.
  • Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Team Leader, Manufacturing Manager, or Safety Manager immediately.
  • Evaluate hazards and verify measures and procedures to achieve a safe work environment.
  • Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others.
  • Must be able to read work documents in English.
  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Good understanding of plant quality requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of GMPs.
  • Good attendance and work history.
  • Strong team mentality.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration.
  • Seasonal exposure to weather elements, including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
  • Daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and communicable diseases.
  • Position requires the ability to stand; walk around the office, warehouse, and plant; lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds; utilize fine dexterity; and reach, kneel, crawl, and twist on a daily basis.
  • Requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection, and others will be provided.
  • Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and occasional emergency situations.
