Warehouse Team Member II- 2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm)- $24.27/hr+* - Williams Foods

About the role

This is a key entry-level position within our manufacturing facility which produces quality food products for our customers. An additional $1.50 per hour shift differential is provided for hours worked between 6PM-6AM. Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, inspect, and relocate raw materials upon receipt in Shipping and Receiving.
• Pull raw materials and deliver them to production personnel as appropriate.
• Relocate finished goods to warehouse racks.
• Pick, stage, and inspect outbound loads and load trailers.
• Perform raw material returns.
• Inspect incoming trailers to ensure trailer integrity and temperature meets requirements.
• Clean and sanitize the work area.
• Document all transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Frequent work in the freezer for up to several hours at a time.
• Receive bulk ingredient, packaging, and raw material items.
• Assist in conducting cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods.
• Document relevant shipping and receiving information.
• Store and retrieve raw materials and finished goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Perform other duties by assisting in the Shipping and Receiving department.
• Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Team Leader, Manufacturing Manager, or Safety Manager immediately.
• Evaluate hazards and verify measures and procedures to achieve a safe work environment.
• Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others.
• Must be able to read work documents in English.
• Strong focus on safety.
• Good understanding of plant quality requirements.
• Good working knowledge of GMPs.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration.
• Seasonal exposure to weather elements including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
• Daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
• Position requires the ability to stand, walk around the office, warehouse, and plant, lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds, utilize fine dexterity, and reach, kneel, crawl, and twist on a daily basis.
• Requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, and fall protection will be provided.
• Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and occasional emergency situations.
