Warehouse System Support Specialist

About the Role

Support the automated Distribution Center (DC) and all functions related to the Cloud-based Warehouse Management System (WMS). This position will work with all team members to support the day-to-day needs of the WMS system, becoming an expert to train key users and provide guidance on system configuration, process, and layout design. The Warehouse System Support will act as the liaison between the operations team and the IT Helpdesk.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday: 6 am to 4 pm
  • Monday - Thursday: 2nd shift (hours TBD but approximate start at 4 pm)
  • Friday - Sunday: 6 am to 6 pm
  • Friday - Sunday: 6 pm to 6 am

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the role of WMS knowledge expert for the warehouse management system from requirements gathering/analysis through daily operations.
  • Run waves to support the flow of the building.
  • Perform inventory counts and reconciliation processes.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day issues.
  • Participate in integration meetings with technical teams to help determine specifications relative to integration mapping and product configuration.
  • Assist in the rollout of test plans, data, and cycles to ensure that all requirements identified in the requirements gathering phase are validated.
  • Provide guidance and training/knowledge transfer to the team to ensure stability of the DC during and after initial deployment.
  • Participate in on-site implementation and customer interaction to ensure delivery of business requirements.
  • Ensure that appropriate tools/processes are leveraged, and effective communication and support is provided throughout the process.
  • Document any new applicable functional requirements as necessary for enhancements to core products to meet the scope of the proposed solution.
  • Create and update training materials as needed.
  • Train and mentor team associates on solutions and best practices for implementations and continuous improvement.
  • Help define, monitor, and analyze WMS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience operating leading WMS solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience working with systems, material handling equipment, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
  • Input data into computer system(s) in use.
  • Work overtime as assigned.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
  • Work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Capable of multitasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • May be required to operate manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line) at an intermediate level.
  • Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, and software systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with system software, programming languages, and data analysis tools.
