U.S. Lumber, an SBP brand, is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor for our Altoona, PA branch, operating out of Bellwood, PA.
About the Role
In this role, you will oversee an operations team responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and staging materials for shipment, including inbound and outbound shuttles of material locally. You will work cooperatively with other branch leaders and serve as the senior leader and decision-maker on the dayshift in the Bellwood warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of warehouse associates and material handlers to fulfill customer orders of building materials.
- Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, including product cleanliness and proper labeling.
- Ensure all warehouse associates work safely with the needed tools and equipment; address safety violations and report accidents to branch leadership.
- Oversee daily receiving processes: unloading incoming freight, receiving inventory, processing documentation, data entry, and labeling.
- Execute customer returns processing, including inspection, restocking, and system adjustments.
- Oversee the shuttle process for materials between the Bellwood, PA, and Claysburg, PA locations, including picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping.
- Maintain serviceability and inspection paperwork for forklifts; address maintenance concerns with branch management or the company’s forklift service provider.
- Ensure pick files are distributed efficiently; monitor work progress to ensure timely, quality-checked, and properly wrapped orders staged for loading.
- Fulfill Customer Pick-up orders and assist warehouse associates as needed.
- Maintain forklift certification.
- Manage workflow to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and accuracy; perform transactions in Agility, including sales order release, material receiving, adjustments, and substitutions.
- Perform cycle counts and other assigned duties.

Physical Requirements
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
- Frequent lifting of more than 50 lbs.
- Moving around the warehouse to assist others or move merchandise.
- Identifying and reading tickets, SKUs, UPC labels, and reports.
- Recognizing, identifying, and using merchandise and necessary reports.
- Gripping to operate machinery or hand tools.
- Working on uneven surfaces, including variable weather conditions and temperatures (warehouse includes outdoor storage spaces).
- Exposure to sharp and/or rough edges.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- 4 years of related experience in distribution or a building materials environment.
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- High school diploma.
- Basic math and analytical skills; familiarity with Microsoft Suite.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Flexible with scheduling and able to complete required training or orientation programs.
- Experience with Agility preferred.
