Warehouse Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute warehouse operations and procedures to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
• Support the planning and preparation process for events by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities to warehouse staff.
• Maintain the highest levels of safety, organization, and sanitation in all warehousing and storage areas.
• Ensure control procedures are used for cataloging, inventory control, bulk storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Aid in maintaining the supply system and coordinate all warehousing activities with the management team.
• Receive and distribute supplies and equipment in large centralized warehousing operations.
• Use storage systems, policies, and procedures to maximize the use and efficiency of space and storage areas in warehousing operations.
• Submit reports regarding damage, outdated stock or supplies, over and under shipments, return of goods to vendors, and contact vendors to reconcile invoice discrepancies, shortages, over shipments, or arrange for emergency shipments or requisitions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
• Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• High school degree.
• Two years’ experience in the receipt, storage, or distribution of food and beverage, supplies, or equipment, including at least one year at the supervisory level in an entertainment or convention center venue.
• Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English, including understanding written and oral direction.
• Requires lifting up to 50 pounds in weight (boxes), pushing, pulling, loading, bending, crouching, in coolers and freezers, and in crowded busy areas.
• Hours are often extended or irregular, including nights, weekends, and holidays, especially on event dates such as Xmas, MLK weekend, and St Patrick's Day.
• Follow and encourage adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including reporting unsafe work conditions and completing company-wide safety training and any additional job-specific safety training.
• Report all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) into the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day they are reported to you.
