Warehouse Supervisor

About the role
We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. This position involves direct supervision of three or fewer warehouse/driver associates, participation in the hiring process, creation of schedules, ensuring warehouse security, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of three or less warehouse/driver associates
- Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations
- Affirmatively approves timecards and creates schedules as necessary
- Ensures the warehouse is secure, maintains equipment and vehicles, and ensures their safe use
- Follows federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling
- Creates systems for organization and communication and ensures efficient space utilization
- Maintains health and safety standards, safety training certifications, and ensures the safety of staff
- Reads customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or in boxes
- Conveys orders to staging areas and/or onto trucks for delivery
- Marks materials with identifying information
- Records amount of materials or items received and distributed
- Performs data entry of records into the computer
- Completes requisition forms to order materials from other company locations
- Prepares parcels for mail
- Performs physical counts of existing inventory and maintains inventory records
- Acts as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier
- Must frequently lift and move 20 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent or at least one year of warehouse experience managing hourly employees
- Proficiency with warehouse policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
- The ability to collaborate with all levels of company staff
- The ability to provide effective feedback
- Forklift driving experience is preferred
