Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and directs warehouse operations, supervises warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators, and supports the Receiving Supervisor in managing the daily freight schedule.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
• Maintains storage buy transactions, receives and corrects errors, stages products.
• Maintains warehouse equipment, implements preventive maintenance programs, communicates necessary repairs to CEM and/or Operations Manager.
• Ensures a safe and clean workplace, trains employees, enforces standard operating procedures.
• Handles employee inquiries, resolves issues, coordinates with other departments.
• Completes activity reports, monitors paperwork flow, resolves discrepancies, performs Storage Buy Audit COP.
• Executes warehouse safety programs, rotates inventories, manages inventory compliance.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills.
• Effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Competent in basic mathematical calculations and Windows-based systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.
• Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.
• Moderate to noisy noise levels in the work environment.
• Physical demands: ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly.
• Requires use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
