Warehouse Supervisor
About the role
Maintains a high level of productivity and ensures that all orders and returns are processed accurately and on-time on a daily basis. First line supervisory responsibility of warehouse employees engaged in all distribution center activities including: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, and packing finished products. Also responsible for identifying space requirements and coordinating needs for storage with delivery and distribution schedules to achieve distribution center goals and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of productivity and ensure accurate and timely processing of orders and returns.
- Supervise warehouse employees in all distribution center activities including shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, and packing finished products.
- Identify space requirements and coordinate storage needs with delivery and distribution schedules.
- Investigate inquiries from customers and internal personnel regarding shipment of merchandise.
- Coordinate daily work efforts of a group of employees within a specific department.
- Select, develop, and evaluate subordinate employees.
- Select, develop, and evaluate subordinate employees.
- Exercises judgment within existing policies and procedures and recommends tactics for meeting work plans.
- Mobilize resources accordingly.
Requirements
Requires 5 years of related experience and management of two or more regular full-time employees; bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a warehouse or distribution area, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory position. Excellent interpersonal skills required for the effective management of subordinates. Experience with personal computers is preferred. Requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
The position is subject to updated background checks which includes a motor vehicle report. Employee must possess a valid driver's license, have proof of insurance and can have no more than (2) minor moving traffic violations within a thirty-six (36) month period. Employee must complete a Safe Driving/Defensive Driving Class within two months of hire and every three years thereafter.
Benefits
