Warehouse Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall Warehouse operation and leadership of hourly labor.
  • Assign/Allocate labor to process workload.
  • Create work plans for the entire team (3 shifts) on truckloads and LTLs in alignment with work demand.
  • Maintain warehouse productivity, accuracy, and on-time shipping; take corrective action when necessary.
  • Cook with carriers to ensure efficient and timely outbound flow.
  • Ensure shipping documentation is completed on a timely basis.
  • Oversee proper labeling, packaging, and documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards.
  • Support annual physical inventory.
  • Ensure adequate equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure safety rules are known and followed by the team.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee four different departments (TL, LTL, FP, and Wood Area).
  • Oversee driver performance and request coverage on weekends as needed.
  • Conduct effective team member training as necessary.
  • Manage employee performance by providing coaching, feedback, and support for development.
  • Manage employees’ timecards and approve their time off.
  • Assist the team with supervisor training and retraining as needed.
  • Conduct effective daily meetings to ensure smooth transition from shift to shift.
  • Attend meetings as required by corporate or internal leadership.
  • Act as liaison between Shipping and Sales for handling fulfillment issues.
  • Assist and cover the Operations Manager during absences to maintain operational continuity.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping and warehouse activities.
  • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to shipping productivity.
  • Absorb and assist in documentation of procedures and associated training of staff.
  • Prepare documents and information for the EDGE meeting.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer complaints, or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure effective use of warehouse space and organization of materials for efficiency and safety.
  • The employee must communicate clearly and ensure that all processes are thoroughly understood by team members.
  • Maintain records: Document shipments, inventory movements, and employee performance.
  • Share performance metrics, safety incidents, and operational updates with management.
  • Identify, analyze, and record security breaches and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify, report and process defective materials.
  • Run various Key performance metrics reports.
  • Leading, training, and motivating warehouse staff, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to procedures.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in warehouse layout, processes, and workflow.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage employees’ timecards including vacation, PTO.

Qualifications

  • 100% Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • 3-5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience (prior Team Leader, Supervisor)
  • A proven track record of continuous improvement
  • A solid understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehousing processes is required.
  • Familiarity with the ERP (Visibility) system and proficiency in using personal computers are essential.
  • The ability to set and work towards achieving goals is important.
  • Strong team building, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are necessary.
