About the role
Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Picking and Packing Team Lead in Edison, New Jersey. This role supports distribution across the US in a state-of-the-art warehouse environment handling products such as apparel, toys, and cosmetics. Equipment used includes computers, handheld scanners, and label printers.
Pay
Hourly pay: $19.00 per hour, plus $0.50 per hour shift pay.
Schedule
Sundays 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM and Monday to Thursday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One (1) year or more of powered industrial truck experience preferred
- One (1) year or more of previous experience as a Team Lead preferred
- One (1) year or more of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) experience preferred
- One (1) year or more of previous warehouse experience preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner required
- Valid forklift operator’s license certified
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership skills

Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of operations.
- Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
- Inspire and guide team members toward improved Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using appropriate leadership styles.
- Assist in providing orientation for employees and give them necessary information, technology, and tools to perform their jobs.
- Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
- Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
- Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
