Warehouse Operator 2 (4:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

12-month contract position located in Sparks, MD. Pay range: $16–20/hr.

Schedule

4:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (every other weekend). Training period is first shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

• One week: work Monday, Tuesday; off Wednesday, Thursday; work Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• Following week: off Monday, Tuesday; work Wednesday, Thursday; off Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

About the role

Performs physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities include cycle counting, packaging, preparing records of merchandise shipped, reviewing customer orders, examining and distributing inventory, and troubleshooting basic material/warehouse operations issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and physical tasks for shipping, receiving, storing, staging, and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process, and finished goods) to operators, workstations, and distribution centers.
• Prepare goods for shipment to distribution centers.
• Complete all necessary SAP training to obtain required profiles.
• Order materials from outside vendors, offload deliveries, and perform goods receipts.
• Physically locate materials in the warehouse and perform SAP transactions to update system locations.
• Conduct bin-to-bin transfers for moves from the warehouse to production staging areas (PSAs).
• Hand load carts/racks and deliver to production areas.
• Run Material Staging in SAP.
• Evaluate production schedules and determine materials needed from outside vendors.
• Maintain required material levels in PSAs.
• Follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Adhere to client housekeeping and safety policies and procedures.
• Work overtime as required to meet business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a shipping environment, including at least 1 year of SAP experience.
• Previous experience with material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift, shrink wrapper); must obtain in-house forklift certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work manual, routine assignments and recognize deviations from specifications.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills across departments.
• Ability to maintain neat, accurate, and complete records and logs, both manually and electronically.
• Ability to manage frequent assignment changes.

Skills

• Proficiency in English: reading, writing, analyzing/evaluating charts, following simple diagrams, and performing basic arithmetic.
• Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows environment.
• Use independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
• Ability to work in a repetitive environment and stand for long periods.
