Warehouse Operative
About the role
Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Warehouse Operative will coordinate the efficient movement of inbound and outbound materials to support and ensure the continued and timely running of the production line. This newly created role also includes inspection of inbound materials and supporting the management of the MRO inventory.
Responsibilities
- Inspect inbound materials to ensure adherence to the agreed Product Standards.
- Raise Non‑Conforming Material documentation on inbound materials as required.
- Ensure that all deliveries to site are received, unloaded, decanted and properly administered in SAP.
- Pick and kit ‘sets’ in a timely manner to enable the production plan.
- Liaise with Production and Supply Chain to keep the line running, responding quickly and efficiently to queries regarding shortages and replacement parts.
- Prepare and arrange outbound shipping activities, such as returnable packaging.
- Organise and manage Goods In, Goods Out and Stores to ensure efficient material storage, handling and high inventory accuracy.
- Transport materials between alternative manufacturing sites.
- Perform miscellaneous work‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current forklift licence preferred (training offered to the appropriate candidate).
- Good working knowledge and experience of SAP and Microsoft packages (desirable).
- Demonstrable experience working in a fast‑paced, lean production environment.
- Previous experience of material inspection and MRO inventory management (advantageous).
- Well‑organised with a methodical approach and meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly motivated and confident with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Resilient, able to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours (early, day or late), including evenings and weekends.
