Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Xpedient is a full-service 3rd party logistics provider with experience helping a diverse client base in warehousing services, transportation management, supply chain management, order fulfillment, and labor needs. This role reports to the Director of Operations for an asset-based logistics provider in the U.S. and Canada.

About the role

The experienced bilingual (English and Spanish) Warehouse Operations Supervisor will provide leadership to direct a workforce in fulfilling orders for multiple clients. The operation serves a large client with varying levels of inbound and outbound work, requiring strong labor management and forecasting skills to optimize costs, maximize service levels, and achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to warehouse staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel, ensuring the team is motivated and aligned with organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the warehouse.
• Oversee accurate and timely receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of products.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
• Regularly conduct cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Develop and execute strategy and annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, customer plans, workshops, etc.).
• Measure and analyze metrics (labor, quality, employee productivity, and efficiency).
• Manage inventory and labor effectively.
• Serve as a customer-facing representative.
• Ensure compliance with safety programs (OSHA, Compliance Programs).
• Utilize supply chain technology, including WMS (SAP preferred).
• Maintain detailed records of safety incidents and assign designated safety personnel.
• Enforce operating instructions and safety policies.
• Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures.
• Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required (ability to communicate work instructions, conduct safety meetings, provide coaching and performance feedback, and complete written documentation in both languages).
• 4+ years of operations management experience in warehousing and distribution.
• Experience in tire manufacturing, food service, or retail distribution (tire warehouse experience is a plus).
• Strong data analysis skills—ability to produce, interpret, and draw conclusions from data.
• Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels.
• Experience or study of startup operations and/or 3PL environments.
• Leadership skills, including conflict resolution and relationship-building with key suppliers.
• Change management and continuous improvement experience.
• Financial acumen and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Results-driven with a strong focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven operations leadership experience in a fast-paced ecommerce, fulfillment, manufacturing, production, or distribution/logistics environment.
• Strong experience with SAP and WMS preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Schedule

Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays if needed. This is a startup location in South Holland, IL.

Pay

$75,000 yearly salary.
