About The Job
The Warehouse Manager II is responsible for directing warehouse activities for the company either personally or with a team of employees. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and maintaining warehouse inventory.
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse, equipment, and vehicles, prepares work orders for repairs, and requisitions replacements.
- Maintains monthly truck reports, assists with hiring and training employees, and coordinates warehouse activities with other functions like production, sales, records control, purchasing, and compliance.
- Directs salvage of damaged or used materials, participates in safety and plant protection activities, handles walk-in sales, and provides back-up support to truck drivers and administrative staff.
- Ensures excellent customer service to internal and external customers and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is required. Follows all company policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of warehouse work experience is required, with leadership experience and agricultural experience being preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
Communicating in Spanish is valued at Helena. A valid U.S. driver's license is required to operate company vehicles. Applicants must meet legal age requirements for operating other moving vehicles or interacting with heavy equipment. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, are required. Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.
Work Environment & Physical Aspects of the Job
The work environment for this position is a warehouse/outdoor environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. You will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and regularly work around moving equipment/mechanical parts, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks, talk, hear, walk, sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lift, carry, push or pull (up to and including 50 lbs or more), reach overhead (up to and including 25 lbs), climb, grasp, grasp and twist using hands and wrists, bend, stoop for long periods of time, work below knee levels for short periods of time, and work above shoulder level for short periods.
