About the role

A Warehouse Manager at Carter Lumber is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring accurate material handling and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Meets and greets contractors and DIY customers, providing exceptional customer service and assisting with material selection and loading.
• Directs delivery schedules and ensures timely and accurate deliveries.
• Maintains inventory levels, conducts cycle counts, and ensures proper organization and accuracy in warehouse operations.
• Ensures compliance with all warehouse policies and procedures, including sales, inventory management, and safety protocols.
• Uses and maintains warehouse equipment appropriately.
• Identifies personal development needs and participates in required training to enhance product knowledge, package handling, and procedural understanding.
• Manages employee performance, including hiring, communication, motivation, discipline, and career development.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to direct and train others effectively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with building materials.
• Flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
