Warehouse Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of the warehouse and its equipment. This position collaborates closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Director of Operations to ensure efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of cleaning, repairs, audits, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership on maintenance work and special projects
• Oversee equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections
• Conduct equipment audits and maintain accurate records
• Manage parts inventory and place orders as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and security protocols
• Cover annual fire extinguisher inspections
• Perform scheduled compressor maintenance (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
• Aid in battery care, including charging and watering
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area at the end of each shift
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse repairs and maintenance
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to follow instructions and execute tasks with precision
• Excellent organizational skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to change
• Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
• Willingness to work extra hours when required
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
