About the Role

The Warehouse Lead is accountable for leading the day-to-day processes and successfully troubleshooting warehouse issues within their respective scope of management. Warehouse Leads are expected to accomplish their daily tasks in addition to managing high-priority and complex customer issues through strong team coordination and follow-through.

General hands-on duties may include one or more of the following tasks: receiving product, stock put-away, inventory management (cycle-count and rack confirmations), picking, packing, pulling, documenting, and shipping customized orders accurately and expeditiously in accordance with AS and ISO standards, as required. Areas of specialty or responsibility may include Electronic Products Group component parts warehousing, Facility departments, or Government Kits within a variety of warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Run daily productivity reports, delegate assignments, and lead or assist in locating appropriate product using a radio frequency system or inventory database program.
  • Ensure required quantities and sizes are pulled, counted, and weighed; accurately understand and follow written specifications; perform data entry; and follow customized requirements with trained knowledge of quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain and apply accurate knowledge and understanding of Wesco Warehouse work instructions, policies, and procedures in all work practices and decisions.
  • Use and/or oversee the utilization of scales to weigh and/or hand count product per warehouse/customer specifications.
  • Use and/or oversee the utilization of label printers to prepare labels.
  • Lead or monitor packaging and preparation of products for shipment, ensuring accurate product counts for the order received and that customer-specific requirements are met in bagging and labeling the product.
  • Use and/or oversee the utilization of carrier and third-party shipping systems to ship product most efficiently.
  • Ensure remaining products are returned to the proper location.
  • Maintain and track the status of customer orders using a computer database system.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Quality, Customer Service, and Sales regarding product or kit issues, inquiries, and progress/status within areas of responsibility.
  • Utilize pallet jacks, drum dollies, forklifts, and/or order pickers when trained/certified.
  • Mentor and/or troubleshoot with less experienced personnel to assist in resolving customer and/or product issues.
  • Provide monthly productivity numbers for functional areas of responsibility to appropriate management personnel.
  • Prepare and file employee training records conducted within the department.
  • Maintain documentation of all quality stamps and records for AS and/or ISO certification, as applicable.
  • Obtain cross-training to assist in other Warehouse functions as required.
  • Communicate with the team and set the example for established standards for quality, safety, and productivity, following established policies and procedures.
  • Attend regular and impromptu departmental meetings and company trainings as required.
  • Support organizational and operations efforts to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations including OSHA, DOT, IATA, and RCRA (as applicable to the facility).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Recent forklift certification training and current forklift license preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and sustained acceptable driving record may be required.
  • 3-5 years of warehousing experience in an aerospace environment or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, troubleshoot, and resolve warehouse issues successfully.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate less-experienced warehouse personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and train less experienced employees using multiple methods (e.g., on-the-job training, reading materials, testing) to ensure compliance with work instructions, customer requirements, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to be alert and aware of safety issues and safeguards, and apply safety standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience using Copilot or other AI tools to enhance productivity.

  • Ability to be cross-trained in multiple critical areas of the warehouse.
  • Strong competency working with integrated data systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
  • Intermediate competency with Word and Excel (e.g., spreadsheets, formulas, importing and exporting files).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional daily interaction with internal and/or external customers.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and independently as needed.
  • Ability to train and share knowledge of integrated database systems, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
