About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Lead to oversee the daily organization and operation of our warehouse while supporting our plumbing, piping, HVAC, service, and project teams. This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, keeps a warehouse organized, and understands the importance of getting the right materials and equipment to the field when they are needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, staging, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, efficient, and safe warehouse.
  • Receive incoming deliveries and verify materials against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate material and equipment requests for field crews and project teams.
  • Stage materials for upcoming projects, service work, and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor warehouse stock levels and communicate material needs to Purchasing.
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers and warehouse personnel to prioritize daily workload.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Help maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and company assets moving in and out of the warehouse.
  • Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect materials and communicate discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly and warehouse aisles, exits, and work areas remain clear.
  • Support company safety procedures and ensure warehouse activities are performed safely.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and assist wherever needed to keep operations moving.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, material handling, or construction/mechanical industry experience required.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with plumbing, piping, HVAC, sheet metal, or mechanical materials strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple departments and job sites.
  • Ability to accurately receive, identify, stage, and track materials.
  • Forklift experience required; current certification is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and material-tracking systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Dependable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of warehouse operations.

Materials are organized, deliveries are accurate, crews are supported, inventory discrepancies are addressed quickly, and the warehouse is maintained in a condition that allows employees to find what they need without unnecessary delays.
