Warehouse Lead

Your Opportunity

The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Indianapolis, IN, is looking for a warehouse lead to join our team. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work safely and efficiently in accordance with all Company safety standards
• Recognize and distinguish colors and various material types
• Communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Contribute to optimal production performance
• Support additional functions as needed, including inventory-related activities and cross-training opportunities across departments
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Coordinates the daily activities of

• Warehouse Order Processing
• Accessories and Hoods

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• Adequate computer skills
• Self-motivation
• Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions
• Basic working knowledge of Customer Service and Manufacturing Department procedures
• Ability to work closely with Manufacturing and Customer Service
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Oracle, Excel, Word
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to select material by quality standards, colors, styles, and shades
• Recognition of colors and different cloth styles
• Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Job may require lifting to, but not exceeding 30 pounds

Physical Requirements

• Daily activity includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting
• Reading, communication, math
• Working at a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above
