WAREHOUSE LEAD

About the role
Work directly with the Depot Manager and Depot Supervisor to coordinate the receiving and processing of all inbound freight. Supervise, guide, and direct leads and warehouse personnel to ensure timely offloading, processing, sorting, palletizing, and loading of inbound freight. Inspect pallet quality to reduce damages and miss-routed packages, communicate with managers, leads, and package handlers, and coordinate warehouse changes or adjustments as needed. Assist with training new personnel and reviewing current or new procedures with staff. Estimate pallet weights prior to loading to ensure trucks comply with GVWR requirements, communicate with inbound drivers to estimate volumes, assign dock doors, and ensure timely arrivals. Perform other related duties as required and meet performance standards set by management while complying with all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Prior experience as a supervisor in a warehouse and transportation environment.
- Ability to lead, direct, and supervise warehouse employees.
- Basic reading, math, computer, and typing skills.
- Knowledge of major cities and zip codes in the states where GLS operates.
- Ability to communicate verbally and via email clearly.
- Comprehend written and oral information effectively.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities.
- Willingness to work an afternoon shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Experience with forklift, pallet truck, and pallet jack operation.
Pay
$17.00 - $17.75 per hour
