Responsibilities
- Lead the inbound team for large/bulky items, including receiving clerks and heavy forklift operators; enforce pre-receiving safety checks.
- Maximize dock door utilization for oversized shipments; reduce unloading-to-putaway cycle time through zone-dedicated staging.
- Cook operational oversight: Coordinate LTL/truckload deliveries of furniture, palletized machinery, or industrial goods. Direct team to inspect for concealed damage, verify dimensions/weights, and complete putaway into bulk or rack storage.
- Schedule management: Align inbound appointment windows with yard management; prioritize unloading based on outbound demand and storage constraints.
- Reporting: Generate receiving accuracy reports (by SKU/pallet), vendor compliance scorecards, and storage utilization for large items.
- Customer service excellence: Work with vendors and freight forwarders to resolve quantity/damage discrepancies at the dock and document claims.
- Security and integrity: Secure high-value large items during receiving; implement spot checks for theft prevention.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Professional Experience: At least 1 year of experience in large item inbound operations.
- Industry Expertise: Knowledge of dock safety regulations (OSHA), oversized putaway techniques, and WMS receiving modules.
- Languages: Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
