Warehouse EHS Supervisor
As a Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor, you will integrate EHS into the functional operation of the facility by implementing systems, processes, and procedures to prevent injuries to associates and minimize the environmental impact of operations. This role focuses on EHS continuous improvement, targeting a world-class safety culture.
Schedule
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday to Saturday (times and days may vary based on facility needs).
Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain company-wide EHS initiatives, including assigned facility compliance activities.
- Provide effective solutions to current and anticipated business needs to build and sustain a world-class safety culture.
- Engage associates at all levels within the facility and perform routine audits and assessments to prevent incidents.
- Provide local EHS leadership by partnering with operational business functions to enable efficient knowledge transfer of key skills to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Support the investigation of all incidents, including near misses, and develop action plans to mitigate future incidents.
- Manage and report on established company metrics while developing local metrics that add value to operations.
- Partner with workers' compensation, medical resources, Site Safety Manager, and Regional Safety to establish systems that provide appropriate care for associates and support business needs.
- Review and evaluate the performance of hourly associates to maintain safety standards.
- Manage the Zero In - Safety Program and administer training for employees and leadership.
Environment
- Warehouse: Freezer 95% (0°F to -20°F)
- Warehouse: Dry Grocery 5% (50°F to 90°F)
Requirements
- Basic understanding of warehouse Health and Safety operations.
- Ability to spend 80% of the workday walking in a warehouse.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and guide varying levels of hourly employees and salaried leaders.
- Strong ability to handle simultaneous tasks of varying complexity.
- Occasional travel within city limits.
Qualifications
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) – Board of Certified Safety Professionals
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – Board of Certified Safety Professionals
- High School Diploma – General Studies
- 4+ years of supervisory-level roles in a fast-paced business environment, preferably in warehouses
Preferred Skills
- Athletic Training Certifications (e.g., NASM, ACSM, ATC, or related)
- Bilingual
