About the role

Rexel USA, one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States, is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Driver to join the PLATT team in Fresno, CA. This role is responsible for filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while maintaining company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The position also includes driving responsibilities, delivering products to customers, branch locations, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required).

Responsibilities

  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; immediately address safety concerns
  • Receive incoming material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description against packing lists
  • Maintain orderly stock on shelves in designated areas; report freight damage claims
  • Prepare branch orders from the warehouse; ensure correct number and type of product are shipped
  • Process shipment paperwork: verify merchandise, apply correct postage tape and labels, follow customer shipping instructions, and insure shipments when necessary
  • Operate machinery including forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine as required
  • Load common carrier and company vehicles; inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment
  • Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Operate delivery vehicles to make deliveries to/from customers, branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers
  • Inspect company vehicle for defects; complete daily inspection reports; keep vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations
  • Load or unload vehicles; ensure all material for each order is correct and free of damage before departure
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery; ensure all documentation is completed at time of delivery, including signed delivery receipts, packing lists, and manifests
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities and catalog numbers
  • Pick up material from company suppliers
  • Participate in training entry-level Truck Drivers and provide mentorship and coaching
  • Perform other job functions within a branch as required, including counter sales and customer support

Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • Prior warehouse experience a plus
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire
  • Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
  • Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years
  • High School diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • General knowledge of electrical products a plus
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Pay

For the state of California only, pay ranges from $16.50 to $20.63 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
