Waitress/Waiter

About the role

We are seeking professional Servers / Waitstaff to manage the pulse of the dining room and ensure patrons have a memorable dining experience. This role is generally offered as a part-time restaurant job.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining room tables by clothing tables, setting up candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils
• Help guests select food and beverages by presenting the menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, including knowing if the kitchen is running out of items
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests’ choices; identifying special dietary needs and requests
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering guests’ choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
• Obtain revenues by issuing bills; accepting payment; returning change or credit card and signature slips to patrons
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by the manager
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to protect the establishment and patrons
• Fill in for absent staff as needed
• Assist with special events as needed
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
• Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary

Requirements

• Prior experience as a server, waiter, waitress, waitstaff, runner, or other front-of-house (FOH) restaurant role highly desirable
• Food Handlers Card
• OLCC Certification
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Positive interpersonal skills
