About the role
RJW Logistics Group is hiring an Inventory Control Lead to supervise and coordinate activities in stockrooms, warehouses, and yards. The position operates shifts on Sunday through Wednesday (4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) and Wednesday through Saturday (4:00 PM - 2:30 AM), with a base pay of $24 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Maintains layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors in items stored.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Prepares composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Issue written / oral instructions and expedites workflow with team members.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
- Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
- Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, Coordinating Cycle Count programs, Product rotation.
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
- Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Education and/or Experience Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
