VP Senior Underwriting Manager- E&S Property
About the role
This position will be responsible for developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing regional team of Property underwriting staff. Additional responsibilities include managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan; managing regional wholesale broker relationships; managing underwriter referrals; and maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk-level challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coach, and manage a high-performing regional team of Property underwriting staff
- Manage regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan
- Manage regional wholesale broker relationships
- Manage underwriter referrals
- Maintain a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk-level challenges
- Travel as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships within the specified regions (25%)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier, or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry
- Bachelor’s Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry
- Experience in E&S Property
- 2 or more years of people management experience

- Strong technical acumen in underwriting property risks in the E&S segment
- Experience in overseeing and developing underwriting talent
- The ability to manage complex processes
- Strong wholesale producer engagement and sales skills
- Demonstrated ability of profitable portfolio management

Pay
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed Salary range for this position is $200,000.00 - $285,000.00, with Global Specialities Incentive Plan eligibility set at 50%.
