Purpose of Role
Responsible for leading all Retail Processing operations at Finance of America, ensuring consistent execution, scalability, and high-quality loan delivery. Oversees end-to-end processing performance, drives operational strategy, and partners cross-functionally to improve cycle times, quality, and customer experience. Balances strong operational leadership with continuous improvement, leveraging data, automation, and practical applications of emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance performance.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Directs all loan processing functions to ensure timely, accurate approvals and closings.
- Maintains a working understanding of AI and emerging technologies and how they can be applied within mortgage operations.
- Utilizes data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and performance gaps.
- Develops reporting and dashboards to monitor productivity, quality, and compliance.
- Builds a high-performing, accountable, and scalable organization by leading, mentoring, and developing processing leaders and teams.
- Partners with Sales, Underwriting, Compliance, Product, and Capital Markets to improve end-to-end execution.
Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum 12 years of related progressive experience in mortgage operations, with minimum 7 years in leadership roles, preferably in a financial services organization.
- Experience leading large-scale loan processing operations, with accountability for performance, compliance, and alignment to enterprise objectives.
- Proven ability to set strategic vision and translate business goals into executable operating plans that improve cycle times, productivity, and customer outcomes.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience partnering with underwriting, closing, funding, secondary marketing, and servicing to optimize end-to-end workflows.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and investor regulatory requirements, including TRID, FHA/HUD, and reverse-mortgage-specific guidelines, with experience operating in highly regulated environments.
- Advanced experience in operational reporting and analytics, including analysis of pipeline trends, headcount, expenses, and service performance to inform executive decision-making.
- Demonstrated success establishing and enforcing service-level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and workload management models across processing teams.
- Strong people leadership experience building, developing, and scaling high-performing processing organizations, including succession planning and leadership development.
- Working knowledge of automation and AI concepts and their application in operations.
- Experience partnering with Compliance and Quality Control teams to proactively manage risk, audit readiness, and regulatory change.

- Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($135,000 - $160,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
