VP of Business Development
About the role
Patriot Group International LLC. (PGI) is a global mission support service provider with expeditionary capabilities, serving select clients in the intelligence, defense, and private sectors. We are a veteran-owned company with extensive experience operating in over 50 countries, including austere and high-threat environments. We are seeking an accomplished VP of Business Development to lead and scale our business development function across three of our most strategically important markets: the Intelligence Community, the Department of War, and the cleared facility and cloud provider ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Own a single, accurate, and well-qualified pipeline across the IC and federal markets, ensuring consistent data quality and forecasting discipline.
- Help shape and execute the company's opportunity qualification and scoring process so that BD and capture staff evaluate and prioritize pursuits with the same rigor and criteria across the team.
- Own and run the gate review process and meetings, including go and no-go decisions, resourcing approvals, and the criteria that determine when a pursuit moves from identification to capture to proposal.
- Identify and pursue relevant federal and IDIQ contract vehicles, as well as commercial agreements with cloud and colocation providers, that create scalable, multi-program growth across all three markets.
- Help shape the company's capture methodology, including milestone reviews, win strategy development, and competitive assessment, so that pursuits move through the pipeline with consistency rather than relying on individual heroics.
- Lead account penetration strategy for the company's most strategically important targets, opening doors that the broader BD team can then develop and convert.
- Serve as the company's senior BD representative in agency briefings, industry days, hyperscaler security summits, and executive level meetings, working as a close partner to the CSO and CEO on the highest priority pursuits.
- Develop and maintain a teaming network of prime and subcontractor partners, cleared staffing firms, technical security integrators, and small business set-aside vehicles that strengthen our competitive positioning across both markets.
- Maintain a current view of the competitive landscape across the IC and federal markets, including incumbent positions, recompete timelines, budget cycles, and emerging requirements.
- Track data center and cloud provider construction, expansion, and security upgrade cycles as a leading indicator of new opportunity generation.
- Provide the CSO and executive leadership with regular strategic briefings on pipeline health, market trends, competitive positioning, and resourcing needs.
- Identify capability gaps and adjacent market opportunities, including converged physical and technical security offerings, and translate them into prioritized growth targets for the team.
Requirements
- Ten or more years of progressive business development, capture, or program leadership experience within federal government contracting, with direct exposure to Intelligence Community and Department of War programs.
- Demonstrated experience leading and scaling a business development team, including hiring, performance management, and execution of established processes.
- Established relationships within the IC agencies or their primes, and within DoW program offices, acquisition commands, or installation security organizations.
- Working knowledge of cloud provider and colocation operator security procurement, including the organizational structures that govern physical security decisions in those environments.
- Fluency with the federal acquisition lifecycle including FAR/DFARS, procurement forecasting, contract vehicle strategy, and opportunity shaping well ahead of solicitation release.
- Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills with the range to engage credibly across federal program managers and contracting officers on one end, and commercial security directors and hyperscaler infrastructure leads on the other.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with physical security or procurement teams at cloud providers or colocation operators holding government-cleared facility contracts.
- Existing relationships within DHS, DOE national labs, DOD installation security, or Intelligence Community adjacent critical infrastructure programs.
- APMP, Shipley, or capture management certification.
Benefits
This is a leadership role for someone who wants to shape how the company pursues and wins its most important business. The Intelligence Community, Department of War, and data center and cloud provider markets represent the company's highest priority growth vectors, and this role carries the mandate to own and execute how we pursue all three. You will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, lead a team, and carry the authority to own the processes that govern how this company captures business for years to come. This is a role built on execution and accountability.
